📢 UGC NET Dec 2025 City Slip Live: Your Ultimate Guide Before the Exam
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Advance City Intimation Slip for the UGC NET December 2025 examination. This is a critical document for all aspirants as it reveals the city where your test center will be located. The examination is set to be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across hundreds of cities in India from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026.
🏙️ Step-by-Step Guide: How to Check Your Exam City?
Many students face issues while logging in due to high server load. Follow these steps to check your city seamlessly:
- Step 1: Visit the direct link provided in the “Important Links” section above. Avoid third-party sites and stick to ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Step 2: Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY), and the Security Pin shown on the screen.
- Step 3: Click on “Submit”. Your City Intimation Slip will be displayed. Download and save it as a PDF.
⚠️ City Slip vs Admit Card: Don’t Be Confused!
It is extremely important to understand that the City Intimation Slip is NOT your Admit Card. You cannot enter the examination hall with just this slip.
- City Slip: Only tells you the City (e.g., Lucknow, Delhi, Patna) so you can book your tickets.
- Admit Card: Tells you the specific Centre Name (e.g., ABC Public School, Sector 62), Roll Number, and Reporting Time. This will be released 2-3 days before your exam date.
💡 Founder’s Opinion: The Winning Strategy for Last 10 Days
“Smart Work Beats Hard Work in the Last Week!”
As the founder of esarkariresult, I have analyzed NTA patterns for years. Here is my unfiltered advice for all 85 subjects:
1. PYQs are Non-Negotiable: Do not pick up any new book now. Solve the UGC NET June 2024 and December 2023 question papers. NTA repeats concepts. If they asked about ‘Fallacies’ in Logic last time, they will ask about ‘Hetvabhas’ this time. The topics remain the same.
2. The IGNOU Secret: For Humanities subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, and Public Administration, go through the summary boxes of IGNOU BA/MA books. NTA paper setters heavily rely on these government resources. A quick read of IGNOU summaries can give you direct questions in Paper 2.
3. Paper 1 Strategy: Do not ignore Data Interpretation (DI) and Reading Comprehension. These are 20 solid marks. Practice 1 DI set daily for the next week.
📊 Normalization Procedure: Percentile vs Percentage
Since the UGC NET exam is conducted in multiple shifts for popular subjects (like Commerce, Hindi, English), NTA uses the Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score.
This ensures that candidates in a “tougher shift” are not at a disadvantage compared to an “easier shift”. Your raw marks will be converted into a NTA Score (Percentile). The final result for these subjects will be declared in Percentile, while for single-shift subjects, it will be in Marks.
🎓 Why JRF is Life Changing?
Aiming for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) should be your priority.
- Financial Independence: A JRF qualified scholar gets a monthly stipend of approx ₹37,000 + HRA (Total ~₹42,000/month) for the first two years while pursuing Ph.D.
- Assistant Professor: JRF adds extra API points during recruitment in Universities, giving you an edge over NET-only candidates.
📝 Exam Day Checklist
- Original ID Proof: Carry your original Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID. Photocopies or digital IDs are NOT accepted.
- Photographs: Carry 2 passport-size photos (same as uploaded in application) for the attendance sheet.
- Reporting Time: Gates usually close 30 minutes before the exam. Reach the center early to handle biometric registration.
Final Words
The UGC NET exam is a test of your consistency and patience. Trust your preparation. Do not panic if you see a new type of question; it will be new for everyone. Focus on accuracy.
